    What are you reading now?

Post  magic on Tue Nov 22, 2011 7:53 pm

It didn't belong to non fiction or fiction thread as it's general about reading so I posted it here.

I am reading two books right now. Children of Captain Grant (there's very famous old Russian movie which is why I am reading the book now) and a book about eating disorder. I have a friend who has bulimia and anorexia in one so I wanted to read the book where these themes are described. It's about the girl who gets into the eating disorder. But I thought it will be a little but different. It's not what I was expecting.

I just finished book 10 of the Morganville Vampire book series, and i was actually gonna post to recommend this book series to all of you because it is amazing. Somehow the characters are still interesting and fresh 10 books in, and theres an 11 and 12th book too.

I'm gonna start the Hunger Games soon...

yep. Book 2 as well. But I didn't like the third book. My friend liked it and she thought that things I didn't like fitted there very well.

I am upto book 7 in the Morganville series and yes it is pretty awesome.

I also really like the House of Night series. Yes, it's mostly aimed at teens so it isn't a too hard read but the plot is awesome and so is the new twist they've put on the vampire mythos.

I have got all of the Vampire Academy books as well and they are great too...

    ohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygod..

THERE ARE POSTS!!! Like...an actual conversation since the last time I posted. This makes me way way too happy, like crazy jump around the lounge happy.

I tried the Vamp Academy books but I couldn't get into them.

YAY someone I can talk to about the Morganville books!!! I really really love this series, but no-one else I know has even heard of it. Keep reading btw - the books keep getting better and better, and funnier!! There were a couple of Oliver quips that actually made me double over laughing!

Partner, I don't think we have talked, or did we? Anyway, I am Lasma but everyone in here call me Lazzy lol

You didn't like Hush Hush? I think it was a great book but it was annoying to me how similar it was to Twilight. I have started the second book but I got just till Chapter 2 or something. Didn'\t continue, but I will some day Smile

What is the author of Morganville?

I think partner (Emma) and you talked before, Laz...

And yeah Hush Hush was VERY similar to Twilight, like TOO similar but it gets better. The third book either just came out or is coming out soon but I haven't read it yet.

The Morganville Vampire books are by Rachel Caine. They focus on teenagers again but no mention of high school cos it's set in university, and it's just a much more mature vampire story.
