    Is it only me, or Alice didn't seem to see what's going to happen when Bella opened her gift?

    actually yes. She had to see. No werewolves were around Bella so there shouldn't be any excuse to not see. hmm... Maybe she was too much into decorations and party? But then again, she can't skip the future flashes Rolling Eyes

    Just like the Tyler's van situation. She saw it seconds before it happened. But it didn't say in New Moon, that she saw a glimpse of what's gonna happen. Especially since Jasper is majorly involved.

    its not like she planned to get a papercut. she wouldnt have seen jasper attacking her until she got the papercut which pretty much would have been too late for anything.

    Tyler didn't plan about the van, either. I'm just saying, that since she saw Edward suddenly went to save Bella when the van skidded, then surely Alice could've seen Jasper attacking Bella when she was cut?

    not that ive read midnight sun and would know this..... but i would assume that a speeding blood thirsty vampire in close range would move a LOT faster than a slidding van, which would give them all more time to react. she probably saw it hitting bella when she decided to look at the tires... giving edward more than enough time to save her... but she wouldnt have seen jasper until he decided to attack... which would have been super FAST. and plus i bet alice was a tiny bit distracted by the smell herself.

    yes, they all were distracted by that, but Carlisle.

    I agree with Mary. Alice may see Tyler deciding to turn the van to not hit Bella so there was a moment while van went to the Bella's side. When Jasper decided to attack Bella, there wasn't moment, he did it straight away
